About

Hey there, and welcome! I’m Emily, author of The Unbusy Mom! I’m a Catholic convert and mom of three little girls. Before my girls were born, I was a public school teacher and school counselor. I decided to stay home when our first daughter was born and haven’t looked back. Being home and raising my girls has helped me to realize what I truly value in life and in motherhood. Turns out that’s much more faith, family, relationships and making memories, and not-so-much having and doing it all. I started this blog to share my journey of intentional, unbusy motherhood and to help inspire other moms to make space for what matters most to them, too!

Don’t worry, I’m not here to claim that mom life isn’t crazy! I promise, girl, my coffee is cold, my hair is full of dry shampoo, my house is not empty or decorated in all white, and there is probably a large basket of laundry somewhere that needs my attention on any given day. I’m a mom of littles just like you, trying to make the most of this short season of motherhood the best I can. I’m definitely not perfect at this, but I have committed to living my life intentionally. As I’ve grown on this journey, and my family has grown, being minimalist has come to mean much more than keeping a tidy, clutter-free home. For me it has transformed into removing ALL forms of clutter- in my home, my schedule, my budget, my relationships, my diet, and my soul. It’s now my goal to intentionally fill my life with the people, experiences and things that matter most to me. Nothing more, nothing less. That means healthy relationships, careful consideration of what we put in and on our bodies, spending hard-earned money in meaningful ways, maintaining a peaceful home, how we treat each other and the earth, attending to our spiritual, physical, mental and emotional health, and most of all– precious time well-spent. As a mom, it’s not just about me and my life anymore. We’re a family. I’m a role model to three little girls, and this is their one, short season of childhood. I want to be a good example, prepare them for happy, fulfilling lives, and make our time together the best I can, because my girls deserve that. If this resonates with you, I hope you’ll subscribe and come along with me on this challenging, freeing, and so-worth-it journey!

Intentional living is such a breath of fresh air in our culture of over-worked, over-scheduled, over-budget, sleep-deprived, anxiety-filled, exhausted moms. There is so much JOY to be found in owning, spending, and doing less. I want to share what I’ve learned and how I do it with all the mamas out there who are burning out trying to “do it all” so you can start making space in your life for what matters most to you. I’m so glad you’re here, girl. Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss any of my posts filled with helpful tips for unbusying your own life. You can always leave me a comment or connect with me on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest! I can’t wait to hear from you!
